Ensure that you have your sling threaded correctly, and the fabric is not twisted in the pouch or in the rings. You can also feather the fabric in the rings a bit to help it move more easily through. Simply reach a finger between the fabric and rings, then gently pinch the edge between your thumb and forefinger. Walk the fabric through the rings thread by thread, creating tiny gathers rather than folds. Take care not to pull too much fabric up, you’ll need just enough room to move your fingers between. When you have gathered the full width of fabric, hold the rings in one hand horizontally, and then reach your opposite hand into this pouch and push down on the fabric.
